Upstream Bioprocessing Scientist

KE Select is recruiting on behalf of an innovative biotechnology manufacturer operating in a GMP-regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a growing industry focused on the production of advanced therapeutic products.

About the Role
We are seeking an Upstream Bioprocess Scientist to join a manufacturing team on an initial 6-month assignment, with potential for extension.
This site-based role will support upstream manufacturing activities, process monitoring, GMP documentation and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated production environment.

A standout feature of this position is the roster. Working a rotating 12-hour day shift roster (76 hours per fortnight), you'll enjoy frequent multi-day breaks throughout the month, with roster patterns that can include periods such as 3 days off, 2 days on, and extended long weekends built into the cycle.

About You
  • Degree qualified in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry or a related Life Sciences discipline
  • Practical experience within a GMP-regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to upstream processing activities such as cell culture, bioreactor operations, media preparation, process monitoring or related manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of GMP documentation and quality requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance
  • Effective communicator who enjoys working closely with operations, quality and technical teams
