About the Role 

As the Technical Sales Specialist for your defined territory, you will act as the primary technical and commercial representative for a specialised diagnostics portfolio across Australia.

The role focuses on translating clinical, analytical, and laboratory workflow requirements into successful commercial outcomes. You will lead customer evaluations, provide deep technical and scientific insight, and support laboratories through implementation and routine use across both public and private sectors.

Location: Brisbane | QLD/WA Territory

Key responsibilities include:
  • Diagnosing scientific, clinical, and workflow challenges within laboratory environments
  • Leading structured customer evaluations including study design, success criteria, timelines, and risk management
  • Providing technical consultation, scientific education, and workflow optimisation guidance
  • Supporting territory growth through disciplined account planning, CRM utilisation, and value-based selling
  • Acting as a technical authority during complex sales cycles and post-market implementation
About You 

You are a technically strong, commercially minded diagnostics professional who enjoys being close to customers and owning outcomes.

You bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences
  • 5+ years’ experience in the IVD or medical diagnostics sector
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or selling specialised diagnostic technologies
    (e.g. electrophoresis, immunofixation, IFA, ELISA)
  • Strong technical communication skills and confidence engaging scientists, managers, and pathologists
  • Experience with CRM utilisation, funnel management, and structured selling
  • An energetic, adaptable, and engaging interpersonal style
  • Full working rights in Australia and willingness to travel domestically (with occasional international travel)
Desirable:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in science or business
  • Experience with value-based or consultative selling methodologies
  • Familiarity with public and private procurement processes
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines relevant to diagnostic testing
