Technical Officer – Construction Materials Testing About the Company We are recruiting for a leading Australian-owned manufacturer and supplier of high-quality cement and construction products. Their ISO and NATA accredited laboratory ensures rigorous quality testing, and they are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join their team.
About the Role: Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will play a key role in the laboratory, performing hands-on testing, quality assurance, and contributing to continuous improvement. This is a practical role ideal for someone with experience in construction materials testing.
Permanent, Full-time position
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 plus superannuation
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine testing of construction materials, including sample preparation, breaks, concrete cylinders, mortar prisms, and chemical testing (manual handling of 15–20 kg).
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Record, verify, and enter analytical results into the laboratory data management system.
- Perform testing according to Australian Standards and NATA requirements; undertake non-routine testing as required.
- Support quality systems, including internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures, laboratory policies, and maintain laboratory housekeeping.
Requirements: - Certificate III/IV in a relevant discipline.
- Permanent residency in Australia.
- 6–12 months experience in construction materials testing is desirable.
- Willingness to undertake training for NATA testing procedures and laboratory data management systems.
- Willingness to undertake regular drug and alcohol testing.
