About the Role
We are seeking a Strategic Key Account Manager to drive and manage key relationships within the academic and research sectors across Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for nurturing high-value partnerships that foster innovation and enable long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external collaborators, you will develop strategic approaches to ensure customer goals are met through tailored solutions that leverage the full strength of our product and service portfolio.
This position is based in
Sydney, with regular travel to engage with stakeholders nationally.
What You’ll Do - Build and manage strategic relationships across assigned key academic accounts.
- Develop comprehensive account strategies aligned to partner goals and organizational objectives.
- Lead initiatives that drive customer engagement, loyalty, and commercial success
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless communication and execution.
- Align internal stakeholders including product specialists, sales leaders, and support teams around shared goals for customer success.
- Monitor account performance and manage financial targets and metrics.
- Provide regular updates on account progress, challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Contribute to market intelligence efforts by identifying trends, risks, and competitive insights.
About You
Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, science, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in strategic account management, partnerships, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated success working with high-value customers or accounts in a complex environment.
- Prior experience working with or within academic or research institutions is highly regarded.
- Experience in large, global, or decentralized organizations is a plus.

- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels, including C-suite and academic leadership.
- Proactive, adaptable, and results-focused.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment - Regular domestic travel required (approx. 30–40%).
- Must adhere to all workplace health and safety guidelines and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.
