About the Company Our client operates a state of the art dermatopathology laboratory offering a comprehensive range of histopathology and specialised diagnostic testing services. The laboratory provides a service to hospitals and clinic across Australia.
About the roleAn opportunity exists for a Senior Histology Scientists to work within a close knit highly skilled dedicated team of professionals.
The shift time for this position is 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday with requirement to particulate in a rotating roster on the occasional Saturday. The Saturday shift is 4 hours starting between 5am to 10am.
Your duties will include:
- Non-complex cut-up, embedding and microtomy of skin and tissue specimens.
- Special staining of slides including immunochemistry.
- Mentoring and training of junior Scientists.
- Frozen sections
- Operate, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be expected to have the following:
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent. Overseas qualifications must be Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) assessed.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a Histology laboratory.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostic Anatomical Pathology with competency in cut up, microtomy, embedding, IHC and frozen sections.
- High attention to detail
