Sales Specialist - Scientific Equipment

The Company

KE Select is partnering with a growing scientific equipment distributor to support continued expansion within the Australian market. The business has established a strong local presence and works closely with academic, research, and selected industry customers across life sciences and biotechnology.

Based in Melbourne, the organisation is entering a defined growth phase, with a strong emphasis on technical depth, long-term customer partnerships, and market development.

The Role

Based in Melbourne, this role will see you become the key commercial representative in Australia, responsible for developing customer relationships and driving sales growth across Victoria and selected national accounts.

You will work with laboratories operating across analytical, molecular, and bioprocessing environments, supporting capital equipment solutions embedded within core research and production workflows. The role is consultative and technically led, with a strong focus on understanding applications, influencing purchasing decisions, and supporting long sales cycles typical of instrument-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and expanding key accounts within academic and research institutions
  • Developing new business opportunities across analytical and bioprocessing laboratories
  • Acting as the primary in-market contact for customers, providing commercial and technical guidance
  • Supporting capital equipment sales across core laboratory infrastructure and research workflows
  • Collaborating closely with technical and application specialists throughout the sales cycle
  • Contributing to territory planning, pipeline development, and forecasting activities
About You

You will have a strong background in life sciences, ideally within microbiology, molecular biology, biopharmaceuticals, or a related discipline, combined with proven experience selling scientific instrumentation or capital laboratory equipment.
You are comfortable supporting complex laboratory systems, navigating longer sales cycles, and engaging with researchers, lab managers, and technical decision-makers. Prior exposure to analytical workflows, bioprocessing or fermentation environments, and temperature-controlled laboratory systems will be highly regarded.
