About The Company Our client is a clinical-stage biotechnology company creating a new generation of RNA therapies to change the lives of patients with genetic diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join this growing team.
About the Role A permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work, is available for the right candidate, based in Perth. This role will support routine experimental work with a particular focus on stem cell culture and differentiation into patient-derived models. The following responsibilities can be expected in this role:
- Mammalian cell culture including maintenance of cell lines, passaging, and preparation for downstream workflows
- Support cell-based assays, molecular biology activities, and research priorities
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of all experimental activities
- Follow quality protocols and SOPs
- General laboratory upkeep, including material preparation, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping activities
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
About You Desirable candidates will have the following:
- BSc or higher in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical science or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques
- Exposure to cell-based assays or molecular biology techniques
- Experience maintaining cell lines, routine passaging and cell culture workflows
- Experience in stem cell or iPSC culture is strongly regarded
- Eagerness to learn and develop further technical capabilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Full working rights in Australia.
