The CompanyOur client is a well-established, growing scientific services organisation who is seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer to support calibration, qualification, and thermal mapping services within highly regulated environments.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically driven professional to work across cutting-edge pharmaceutical and biotech facilities, ensuring critical equipment and systems meet stringent regulatory and compliance standards.
As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering calibration, commissioning, qualification, and validation services for client equipment and controlled environments. You will work across the full CQV lifecycle while ensuring compliance with cGMP, GDP, and relevant industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform qualification and thermal mapping of critical client equipment including autoclaves, ovens, cold rooms, freezers, and warehouses
- Develop, execute, and review qualification protocols and validation documentation including DQ, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, PV, and thermal mapping reports
- Conduct calibration, verification, and maintenance of metrology and thermal mapping instrumentation
- Analyse measurement systems for accuracy, reliability, and compliance
- Apply statistical and scientific methodologies to identify measurement errors and implement corrective actions
- Support project scheduling, technical execution, and client service delivery across regional operations
- Assist with SOP development, process improvements, and technical documentation
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support continued business growth
About You To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in metrology, calibration, or validation engineering
- Must have thermal mapping experience
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated laboratory environments highly regarded
- Strong technical understanding of calibration systems, measurement science, and validation protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in dynamic environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
