About the Company KE Select has exclusively partnered with LECO Australia in the search for their next Laboratory Instrument Sales Representative to be based in Melbourne but responsible for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. This is currently a work from home and on the road opportunity.
LECO Australia is a trusted global laboratory equipment company with instruments for elemental analysis, thermal analysis, metallography and mass spectrometry. Their analysis covers a wide range of materials including metals, ores, soils, food and feeds, dairy, agricultural, fuels (coal, oil and renewables), and battery materials. Markets include mining, manufacturing, food and feed, agriculture, fuels, commercial testing laboratories, pharmaceutical/medical, environmental, research (University and Government), defence, among others.
About the Role Reporting to the Managing Director or their delegate, this full-time Sales Representative position will involve account management and developing/growing profitable sales volume of LECO instruments, consumables, and spare parts for the VIC/TAS/SA region. Travel is an integral part of the role and you could be away from home for up to 1 week at a time with an estimate of up to 15 weeks of the year away from home.
Some of the responsibilities as follows:
- Building a sales pipeline of opportunity, including regular updates to Salesforce
- Cold Calling to potential customers and follow up/nurture existing accounts
- Developing close relationships/partnerships with clients (prospective and existing) through regular connections over the phone and in-person meetings
- Highlighting relevant LECO instruments and products to meet the client’s needs
- Become technically familiar with all instruments sold by LECO, and the client applications, by attending internal seminars/webinars/training sessions
- Participate in industry trade conferences and events as required
- Prepare and deliver presentations and product demonstrations for customers
- Deliver a high level of customer service by addressing client orders, concerns and complaints with urgency
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding budgeted sales income and KPIs
- Additional duties as required
About You To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- BSc or MSc with strong exposure to food/feed/agriculture/biochemical/analytical chemistry or field of material Science/metallurgy
- Hands on laboratory experience with LECO instrumentation or other laboratory instrumentation would be highly regarded
- Proven sales experience in analytical laboratory instrumentation – particularly with elemental determinators (CHNS), moisture and ash determinators, calorimeters, GCMS instruments, OES Spectrophotometers, or mid to high end metallographic instruments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce or other CRM software
- Experienced and comfortable preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to individual and group audiences either in person or via online webinars
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Ability to travel to meet the requirements of the clients and the role
- Full working rights in Australia
