Laboratory Assistant

The Company 
Our client is a private clinical research organisation with a national presence within the Australian market for over 20 years. They have experience in successfully delivering clinical trials in multiple therapeutic areas. This organisation is experiencing significant growth in Sydney. Due to leave, they have a need for a casual Lab Assistant at their on-site laboratory. 
 
The Role
You will support the day-to-day function of the clinical research laboratory by preparing and handling samples, maintaining equipment, assisting with study‑related lab procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. 
 
**You MUST be available to work Mon-Fri from 8/10/26 until 27/11/26.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, prepare, label, and process samples according to study protocols
  • Maintain strict adherence to GCP, lab SOPs, and sponsor‑specific sample handling requirements
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, and media as required for study procedures
  • Assist with data entry, QC checks, and resolving discrepancies
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols 
 
About You
 
Essential:
  • Bachelor of Science (Biology, Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field)
  • Experience in a laboratory environment
  • An understanding of aseptic technique, sample handling, and basic lab equipment operation
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow protocols precisely and work under supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
  • Experience in clinical trials, pathology, or regulated laboratory settings
  • Familiar with GCP, ICH guidelines, and clinical sample workflows
