About the Role A casual Lab Assistant role, working business hours Monday to Friday, is available for the right candidate, based in Perth. We are looking for someone to start immediately and individuals on Working Holiday Visas are encouraged to apply. The following responsibilities can be expected in this role:
- Assist with cell culture, antibody assays, purification procedures, solution preparations and analysis of samples
- Maintain stock levels of basic laboratory supplies, unpack and safely store consumables, reorder when necessary
- Collect, clean and sterilise laboratory glassware and equipment
- Use and care for sterilisation equipment, autoclaves, dishwashers and other equipment
- Oversee the safe disposal of biohazardous waste, ensuring it is properly segregated
- Follow all SOPs, WHS protocols and other guidelines
- Complete accurate data entry and administration tasks
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
About You Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Certificate III in laboratory skills or similar
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment with skills such as pipetting, weighing, measuring, aseptic techniques and understanding of lab equipment
- Experience in media production, cull culture, antibody assays and purification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Working rights in Australia.
