Business Development Manager - Microscopy

The Opportunity
KE Select is partnering with a global leader in scientific imaging technology to appoint a Business Development Manager responsible for Queensland and New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally recognised organisation at the forefront of advanced microscopy, supporting researchers, universities, medical institutes and commercial laboratories with cutting-edge imaging solutions. You will play a key role in expanding market presence while working alongside highly regarded scientific and technical specialists.
 
The Role
Reporting into the regional sales leadership team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships across a portfolio of high-end life science microscopy systems.
This is a consultative sales position suited to someone who enjoys combining scientific knowledge with commercial success, working closely with researchers to understand their applications and recommend tailored solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across research and commercial markets
  • Build strong relationships with researchers, laboratory managers and key decision makers
  • Manage complex capital equipment sales from initial engagement through to contract negotiation
  • Deliver product demonstrations and scientific presentations
  • Support customer evaluations, installations and user training
  • Work collaboratively with technical, applications, service and marketing teams
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM activity
  • Represent the organisation at conferences and scientific events throughout Australia and New Zealand.
About You
You will ideally possess:
  • Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Proven success in scientific sales, business development or capital equipment sales
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with researchers and scientific stakeholders
  • Current driver's licence with willingness to travel throughout Queensland and New Zealand
Highly regarded experience includes:
  • Advanced microscopy or scientific imaging
  • Confocal, fluorescence or high-end research instrumentation
  • Universities, medical research institutes or biotechnology markets
  • Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
