About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Territory Manager to join a high-performing commercial team, managing an established territory across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Based in Melbourne, you will work closely with researchers, laboratory managers, clinicians, and key decision-makers across universities, research institutes, biotechnology companies, hospitals, pathology laboratories, and pharmaceutical organisations.
Representing a market-leading portfolio of genomics, molecular biology and next-generation sequencing technologies, you will provide both technical and commercial support, helping customers optimise workflows, implement new technologies, and achieve their research and diagnostic objectives.
Key Responsibilities - Manage and grow an established customer portfolio across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across academic, clinical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets.
- Build strong relationships with principal investigators, laboratory managers, pathologists, clinicians and procurement teams.
- Provide technical product presentations, demonstrations and application support across genomics, molecular biology and NGS workflows.
- Consult with customers to understand laboratory workflows and recommend fit-for-purpose scientific solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Applications Specialists to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
- Maintain sales forecasts, CRM activity and market intelligence.
- Represent the organisation at scientific conferences, workshops and industry networking events.
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- A degree (or higher) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science or a related Life Sciences discipline.
- Practical laboratory experience with one or more of the following:
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- PCR/qPCR
- Genomics or Molecular Biology
- Single Cell or Spatial Biology
- DNA/RNA extraction and sample preparation
- Library preparation and sequencing workflows
- Previous experience in scientific sales, field applications, product specialist or technical support roles is highly regarded.
- Strong scientific communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders ranging from laboratory scientists through to senior researchers and clinicians.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent relationship management skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
