Senior Preclinical Development Scientist | Medical Devices

The Company
You will work for an ASX-listed global manufacturer that has operated for the last 20 years, with offices across Australia, the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe. With a global HQ and manufacturing site in Sydney, they are developing and manufacturing an Australian-made product used across the globe. 


The Role 
The Preclinical Development Scientist will be responsible for the preclinical
development of products. This includes protocol development, conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and contributing to hazard analysis and risk assessments, in line with regulatory requirements for efficacy and safety.

Other duties and responsibilities include:
  • Review standards, guidelines and literature requirements for preclinical product development
  • Develop protocols based on standards and guidelines
  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to develop protocols and test methods, advise on safety and efficacy requirements, plan testing, and discuss results
  • Analyse and interpret research data
  • Present research data in presentations, manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and other formats as required
  • Responsible for the proper recording and retaining of project information

About You 

  • Ph.D. in life sciences research discipline is desirable 
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience with experience in microbiology or biochemistry preferred 
  • Min 2 years of experience in designing and analysing preclinical or analytical studies
  • Experience with the research aspects of early-stage product design
  • Experience working with QMS systems 
  • Experience with designing and writing protocols 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
