About the role: This role suits an experienced chemist who enjoys being hands-on in the laboratory while also contributing to project work across all product lines, including new product development (NPD), formulation support and product improvement initiatives.
You will work closely with a collaborative technical team,
supporting knowledge sharing, mentoring and helping build capability across the laboratory. This is not a highly corporate or hierarchical environment — the team values people who are down-to-earth, supportive, easy to work with and genuinely collaborative.
Please note: For the first 6 months, this role will be based on day shift (10am - 6pm) to ensure thorough onboarding, training, and integration into the team and processes. Following this period, the role will transition to the afternoon shift (Mon–Thu 2.30pm–11pm, Fri 12pm–6pm - shorter shift on Fridays).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using HPLC, GC, Ion Exchange, ICP and wet chemical techniques.
- Contribute to NPD, formulation development, and product improvement projects across multiple product lines
- Support and guide junior chemists and technicians in a collaborative, team-based way
- Assist with troubleshooting formulation and quality issues
- Investigate customer complaints through laboratory testing and root cause analysis, working closely with production and quality teams to implement effective corrective actions
- Participate in and support quality systems and audit activities
- Foster a positive, supportive and cooperative laboratory environment
About You: We are looking for someone who is technically strong a great team fit. You will bring:
- A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with GC and HPLC
- A collaborative, down-to-earth approach and strong team mindset
- Willingness to support and guide others in a practical, approachable way
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
