Production Supervisor | Upstream

Our client is a global leader in providing support to the scientific community. They have a cutting-edge facility located in Brisbane that specializes in clinical and commercial manufacturing as well as single-use biologics technology. The facility adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for clinical and commercial manufacturing. 

About the role:
An exciting full-time position for a Production Supervisor - Bioprocessing who is now available. Managing a team of Team Leaders/ Production scientists in the manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals your day-to-day duties involve:
  • Manage the Upstream Production Team over a 7-day rotating roster. 
  • 8 days a fortnight - 10.5-hour shifts. (E.g. 3 days on, 2 days off)
  • Ensure the growth and development of the Upstream Processing team with a focus on building talent depth and succession planning.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Upstream and Operational processing technology keeps pace with novel and state-of-the-art processing equipment and techniques/technologies e.g. Perfusion technology, new Bioreactor technology and state-of-the-art harvesting techniques such as single-use centrifugation.
  • Ensure the USP team supports the MSAT and Operational team on new process implementation and repeat batch execution at the site.
  • Deliver sustained improvement in the site's key performance indicators of Right the First Time and On Time Delivery ensuring the site meets KPIs and ultimately timely delivery of therapeutics for patients.
  • Review, revise and author manufacturing batch records, SOPs, and logbooks.
  • Independently organise and execute USP unit operations with the applicable production protocols and planning schedules, in a clean room environment under cGMP conditions.
Suitable candidates will have:
  • Tertiary education in science/ engineering-based field (i.e. biopharmaceuticals manufacture, biotechnology, process technology) or 4 years of relevant experience in the bio (pharmaceutical) fields
  • Team management experience is preferred, with a track record in building, developing and coaching a high-performing team to deliver against objectives
  • Very good knowledge and experience working in a cGMP environment.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in relevant quality systems.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills to influence and build effective teams
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong organisational, scheduling and planning skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
