Pathology Collector - Warwick, QLD

About the Company 
Our client is a not-for-profit and 100% privately owned Pathology service provider.  They are invested into advancing treatment options and improving care and outcomes for patients through health, education and research.  

Our client has more than 40 collection centres in both Doctors clinics and hospitals across Queensland.  We are currently recruiting for a permanent Pathology Collector / Phlebotomist for a permanent position based at Warwick, QLD. 

About the Role
As a Pathology Collector / Phlebotomist you will be providing a high level of customer service and care to patients through phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management and administration duties. This is a permanent position working at a brand-new Doctors clinic, Monday to Friday, day shift hours, 38 hours per week. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include: 
  • Collection of blood samples from adults, children and infants.  Including collecting samples such as blood, urine, swabs and skin.
  • Providing advise to patients on any special requirements prior to test procedures. 
  • Registration of patients using pre-analytical management system
  • You will maintain equipment, consumables and work areas in a clean, safe and well-resourced state.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Deliver quality customer interactions of a high standard by ensuring a professional appearance and polite manner.
  • Providing excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service
  • Maintaining quality of service as per ISO 17025 accreditation and AS/NZS ISO/9001 2000 standards
About You  
To be considered for this position, you must be:
  • Qualified with a Certification 3 in Pathology Collection
  • Have a minimum of 6 months unsupervised venepuncture experience is essential, not including placement hours.
  • Experience in ECG's and Holter monitors
  • Eligible to work within Australia - Sponsorship is not available
  • Possess a current driver’s licence, WWC Check & Police Clearance
  • Have a good understanding of patient confidentiality
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part a of multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
