Field Service Engineer

KE Select has exclusively partnered with LECO Australia in the search for their next Field Service Engineer to be based in their Sydney office and predominately in the field.
  
LECO Australia is a trusted global laboratory equipment company with instruments for elemental analysis, thermal analysis, metallography and mass spectrometry. Their analysis covers a wide range of materials including metals, ores, soils, food and feeds, dairy, agricultural, fuels (coal, oil and renewables), and battery materials. Markets include mining, manufacturing, food and feed, agriculture, fuels, commercial testing laboratories, pharmaceutical/medical, environmental, research (University and Government), defence, among others.
  
About the Role
Reporting to the National Service Manager, this full-time Field Service Engineer position will involve preventative maintenance, breakdown service, installations and operator training, mostly in the NSW region but some travel may be required interstate and internationally. Travel is an integral part of the role and you could be away from home on average 2 weeks of the month depending on client demand.
  
Some of the responsibilities as follows:
  • Aim for 80% of time spent at customer sites, providing service such as installations, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and training – other 20% of time will be admin.
  • Completion of service reports, stock requests/management, and documenting travel expenses
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide information on LECO consumables and spare parts
  • Participate in self-learning through the LECO Ignite training portal, online webinars, etc.
  • Take ownership of allocated jobs and manage the travel arrangements and planning
  • Become a subject matter expert on LECO instrumentation and provide guidance, support and training to customers on correct operation and use
  • Additional duties as required
About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electronics or Chemistry
  • Hands on laboratory experience with LECO instrumentation or other laboratory instrumentation would be highly regarded
  • Proven field service experience of chemical laboratory instruments or industrial gas flow process control instrumentation
  • Experience servicing gas flow systems, mechanical/electronic gas flow controllers, gas detection systems, solenoids, pneumatic systems, pumps, and laboratory oven/furnaces
  • Restricted electrical license - highly regarded
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to meet the requirements of the clients and the role
