Embryology Laboratory Supervisor

They are part of a global organisation renowned for their dedication to advancing reproductive medicine through cutting-edge research and exceptional patient care.  Our client offers the latest in fertility treatment, utilising state-of-the-art technology while providing a personalised approach to each and every patient.

About the Role
You will be responsible for managing a team of nine embryologists (including trainees) and taking full ownership of the running of both the Embryology and Andrology laboratories, overseeing people and laboratory operations. 

The clinic, located in the Sydney CBD is a purpose-built, all-inclusive clinic incorporating consulting rooms, a dedicated day hospital and two state-of-the-art IVF laboratories. Hours of laboratory operations are between 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday with shorter hours on the weekends.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Day to Day management of the Laboratory
  • Ensuring the laboratory is operating in compliance with RTAC Code of Practice (Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee), National Ethical Guidelines for ART and complies to state legislation and regulations.
  • Maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment
  • Engaging your staff with training, developing and continuous professional development activities. 
  • Supporting your team where needed, guiding staff around best practice and developing their skills. 
  • Handling on complex cases, resolving issues, troubleshooting.
  • Liaising directly with patients 
  • Working to constantly improve the overall success of the Laboratory.

About You  
To be successful in this role, you will be expected to have the following: 
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Medical Science, Biomedical Science or related Degree. Masters of Clinical Embryology is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an IVF laboratory
  • Previously experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Current Senior Embryologists looking for career progression are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of RTAC Code of Practice 
  • Membership of SIRT or FSA
