Bioprocess Technician

Our client is a world leader in supporting science and has a state-of-the-art facility in Brisbane that specializes in clinical and commercial manufacturing and single-use biologics technology. The Brisbane site boasts expertise in GMP for clinical and commercial manufacturing and is in a period of growth and expansion. 

An exciting opportunity for a Bioprocess Scientist is now available and as part of a team of scientists, you will be responsible for manufacturing biopharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Support execution of bioprocess unit operations (chromatography, virus inactivation, virus filtration, ultrafiltration diafiltration
    and drug substance final fill) with the applicable production protocols and planning schedules.
  • Able to contribute to the bioprocess functions, such as maintaining the production suite, supplies, equipment,
    logbooks, and data, as well as closing out batch record and material reconciliation by site
    SOPs and policies.
  • Execute unit operations, manual operations, and measurements by applicable production protocols and standard operating procedures in a clean room environment.
  • Contributes to the overall departmental responsibility to produce biopharmaceutical products and intermediates, including maintaining the production suites properly.
  • Documentation review 
  • Proposes and implements corrective or preventive actions and support to Deviation Reports and writing Deviation Reports.
  • Supports the implementation of new procedures and/or equipment
Suitable candidates will have:
  • A science or engineering qualification or relevant manufacturing experience in a bioprocess/scientific manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexibility to work overtime.
  • Exposure to a GMP environment is desirable
  • Good aseptic techniques and experience in growing cultures
  • Strong team player
  • A proactive attitude with an initiative to identify and overcome practical problems.
  • Good communication to interact with suppliers about issues of a technical nature.
  • Ability to write and execute validation protocols
